On September 22, 2014, in Chita, transport police detained a resident of St. Petersburg, who was on the federal wanted list for hooliganism motivated by hatred.

Operative officers of the Chita Linear Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on Transport detained a resident of St. Petersburg, born in 1976, who is on the federal wanted list.

The suspect tried to escape from justice on the railroad. Colleagues from St. Petersburg turned to the Trans-Baikal transport police for assistance. A criminal case under part 1 of Art. 213 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism committed with the use of weapons based on political ideological, racial, national or religious hatred), Chita police detained him on a passenger train when he and his wife tried to leave for Moscow. The suspect has been taken into custody. He was placed in a pre-trial detention center in the city of Chita.
