A criminal case has been opened against members of Hizb ut-Tahrir in the Chelyabinsk region

On October 2, 2014, a criminal case was initiated in Yuzhnouralsk case under Part 2 of Art. 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization) against four Muslim members of Hizb ut-Tahrir.

The men were detained in Yuzhnouralsk. During the search, they literature and electronic media were confiscated. The materials were sent for examination.

According to press service of the Chelyabinsk FSB, three of the detainees were distributing leaflets in Chelyabinsk mosques on September 27, 2013. They have already been filed criminal case under part 1 Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting hatred or enmity, as well as human dignity), currently sent to court and retrained.
