In Mordovia, a case of xenophobic materials on the Internet has been sent to court

In September 2014, a criminal case was initiated in Mordovia against a resident of Ruzaevka for posting xenophobic video materials on the Internet.

The Ruzaevsky interdistrict SO of the UPC RF for the Republic of Mordovia initiated a criminal case against a 30-year-old local resident. He is suspected under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (incitement of hatred and enmity towards a group of persons on the grounds of race, nationality, origin, attitude to religion, committed in public).

According to investigators, from March 2008 to February 2014, the suspect created a personal page on the VKontakte social network under an assumed name, where he freely posted " text files, photos and video materials that use inciting statements aimed at inciting national and religious hostility towards a certain circle of people .

At the end of November 2014, the Ruzaevsky District Investigative Committee completed its investigation into the case. The case was referred to the court for consideration on the merits.
