Attacks on migrants in Moscow

On the night of October 12, 2014, there were several attacks on migrants from Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in Moscow.

On the night of October 12, 2014, three young men attacked Bakhriddin Sharopov, a 26-year-old migrant from Tajikistan who was selling shawarma, in the Kolomenskoye metro station in Moscow. The attackers, shouting "Chocks, get out of Russia!”, stabbed him at least three times.

Sharopov was hospitalized. Ambassador of Tajikistan to Russia Imomuddin Sattorov demanded that the Russian authorities inform the embassy about the progress incident investigation.

On October 12, the leader of the Youth Union of Tajikistan in Russia reported that the police detained one of the three attackers on Bakhriddin Sharopov. The offender, running away, dropped his phone, by which he was identified by the police. The criminal case was initiated under Art. 213 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism).

According to media reports, on the same night in the same area with the same cries of "Churki, get out of Russia!" migrants from Uzbekistan were attacked, one of whom died in hospital. The condition of the second citizen of Uzbekistan is assessed as serious.

As lifenews.ru reported, on the morning of October 12, on Miklukho-Maklay Street, near the forest belt, police officers found the corpse of a hacked man. Later, another body was found nearby with stab wounds in the neck. The murder was committed as a result of an attack by an unknown group of people. Earlier it was reported that both victims are citizens of Tajikistan. Later, the senior inspector of the department on Miklukho-Maklaya Street stated that the dead were citizens of Kyrgyzstan, not Tajikistan.

According to the Youth Union of Tajikistan in Russia, at least 8 migrants have been attacked in various parts of Moscow over the past two days.
