A sentence was passed on a mosque desecrator in Ivanovo

A verdict was passed in Ivanovo in the case of desecration of a mosque.

On November 6, 2014, it became known that the Leninsky District Court of Ivanovo passed a verdict against the 24-year-old vandal.

The young man was convicted under Part 2 of Art. 214 of the Criminal Code (vandalism committed based on religious hatred) and Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (incitement of religious hatred) for writing offensive inscriptions on the fence, porch and facade of the cathedral mosque in June 2013 and placing a pig’s head on the fence of the mosque.

The court imposed a sentence of 3 years of imprisonment in a general regime correctional colony.

Let us remember that at the beginning of November 2014, the mosque in Ivanovo was again covered with offensive inscriptions.
