In St. Petersburg, an Orthodox barbershop, founded by a Cossack chieftain, began work.

In November 2014 in St. Petersburg, on the initiative of the Cossack Ataman Andrey Polyakov opened an Orthodox barbershop "Good Sunday". The institution is located on the 11th floor of the same office building, in which meets the Cossack society "Irbis". In an interview with journalists, ataman Polyakov said that he also intended to open an "Orthodox restaurant based on a Cossack kuren", "the first Orthodox shop in the city with Russian milk" and "a Russian Cossack national cultural center."

“ There is a Jewish cultural center, there is a Tatar one, but there is no Russian one. We appealed to the authorities, they do not refuse, but they do not give a place either. And we would open a conference hall, a gym there. The fact that a place is called Orthodox does not mean that someone will be refused a visit to it. But the chances that a gay man was sitting in the barbershop before you will be much less , ”he believes.

On December 11, 2014, it became known that the prosecutor's office of St. conducted an inspection of a hairdressing salon at the request of a resident of the city, who feared that The institution provides services only to the Orthodox. The audit found no violations legislation on countering extremist activity.
