Consideration of the case on the charter of the Church of Scientology in Moscow in the Izmailovsky District Court was suspended.
On December 15, 2014, the Izmailovsky District Court of Moscow suspended the consideration Complaints of the Church of Scientology in Moscow against the refusal of the Ministry of Justice to register the charter organizations. A religious expertise has been ordered in the case.
Recall The Ministry of Justice appealed to the Moscow City Court with a demand to liquidate the organization for on the basis that the charter of the Church of Scientology in Moscow does not comply with freedom of religion law. The process in the Moscow City Court was suspended until resolution of the charter issue in the Izmailovsky District Court.
Recall that in early October 2014, the European Court of Justice Human Rights (ECtHR) saw in the refusal to register local communities Church of Scientology violation by the Russian authorities of Art. 9 (Freedom of thought, religion, conscience) and Art. 11 (freedom of assembly and association) of the European conventions for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
