Priest killer convicted in Krasnodar region

In Belorechensk, Krasnodar Territory, the court sentenced the murderer of a priest.

December 19, 2014 Belorechesky District Court of the Krasnodar Territory sentenced Yuri Skripalev, who in 2013 killed priest Nikolai Medentsev and burned down the parish house in Belorechensk.

Y. Skripalev found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 167 (deliberate destruction of property), part 1 of Art. 166 (wrongful possession car) and part 1 Art. 105 (murder) of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 12 years of deprivation freedom in a strict regime penal colony.

Recall the murder was committed against the backdrop of a conflict with the priest's niece, who was the ex-wife of Y. Skripalev. The accused turned himself in to the police, and after sentencing pleaded guilty.
