MPG of Karelia was liquidated

At the end of 2014, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Karelia liquidated the MPG of Karelia, since its founder is Maxim Efimov, included in the "Rosfinmonitoring list".

January 23, 2015 it became known that at the end of 2014 The Supreme Court of the Republic of Karelia decided to liquidate the Youth Human Rights Group of Karelia (MPG of Karelia) and the exclusion of the organization from the United state register of legal entities.

The Karelian branch of the MPG was liquidated on the basis of that its founder was Maxim Efimov, included in the "list Rosfinmonitoring" (list of organizations and persons involved in terrorist or extremist activity) as a suspect in a case on Part 1 Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation human dignity on the basis of attitude to religion) (for the text of the court decision, see here and here ).

According to Art. 19 of the Federal Law "On public associations", a person included in the "Rosfinmonitoring list" cannot be a founder public association. Efimov is included in this list as a suspect. in an "extremist" case, in accordance with Art. 6 FZ "On countering the legalization (laundering) of funds received by criminal way, and the financing of terrorism".

The case against Efimov was initiated in April 2012; the investigation was subsequently suspended , and on January 25, 2013 it was renewed again . Recall the reason for his excitement was published in December 2011 on the website IPY note "Karelia is tired of the priests." From the second half of May 2012 Efimov is in Estonia. He explains his departure by saying that he cannot count on the fairness and impartiality of the consideration of the initiated a criminal case against him. Yefimov was put on the federal wanted list.

We believe that the case against Efimov was initiated illegally. In our opinion, his note is sustained in a rather aggressive tone, but does not contain any calls for illegal actions, in addition, according to the resolution of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation No. 11 "On judicial practice in criminal cases of crimes extremist orientation", "criticism of religious associations itself should not in itself be regarded as an action aimed at arousing hatred or enmity."
