Russia began gas supply to the LPR and DPR

The head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, said that Russia increased gas supply to southeast of Ukraine, including Donbass, writes RBC with reference to the company's press release.

According to the official representative of Gazprom, Sergey Kupriyanov, whose words are given by RBC, gas for the needs of southeastern Ukraine is supplied as part of the Gazprom contract with Naftogaz of Ukraine. “Ukraine every day puts its application for gas consumption, the volume of which may change. Yesterday it amounted to 30 million cubic meters. m, and today - 42 million cubic meters. m, 12 million cubic meters. m of which will go through Prokhorovka and Platovo towards the southeast of Ukraine, ”Kupriyanov explained.

“Gas supply began at 16: 25-16: 45 Moscow time,”- quoted the words of the Prime Minister of the LPR Gennady Tsypkalova Interfax. “We have two threads of the Stavropol-Moscow gas pipeline. The first thread can be used for gas supply to the DPR, the second in the LPR. ”

Earlier on Thursday, the DPR leaders announced the cessation of gas supplies from Ukraine without any warning. After that, Medvedev instructed the Ministry of Energy together with Gazprom to provide humanitarian assistance to the residents of the self -proclaimed republics: “People should not freeze,” said Dmitry Medvedev.
