Attack after Anti-Maidan

On February 21, 2015, in Moscow on Petrovka Street near the Haggis bar, a clash occurred between visitors to the Haggis bar and Anti-Maidan participants. Anti-Maidan supporters beat one of the young men for shouting “Glory to Ukraine.” In addition, one of the “anti-Maidan activists” was also injured, who was shot when he was breaking into the bar.

At the end of February 2015, information spread in the media that on the night of February 22, 2015 in Moscow on Petrovka Street, where the Anti-Maidan march had previously taken place, an attack occurred on a man with the flag of the Donetsk People's Republic. According to this version, two young people were walking down the street with a DPR flag. A customer came out of the Haggis bar and began shouting nationalist slogans at DPR supporters. After this, a fight broke out, during which a bar visitor took out an Osa traumatic pistol and shot one of the young men in the face. Eyewitnesses called the police. The 34-year-old shooter was detained; during a personal search, weapons and “nationalist paraphernalia” were found on the attacker.

On March 2, 2015, a video with a diametrically opposite interpretation of what happened on February 21, 2015 spread on the Internet. The action takes place during daylight hours, but at the same Haggis bar and clearly after the Anti-Maidan rally. The video shows how two people came out of the bar, one of them probably shot into the air as the “anti-Maidanovites” walked by. According to commentators, this was accompanied by a cry of “Glory to Ukraine!” (the “anti-Maidanovites” themselves talk about this in the video). After that, other young people began to drag those standing on the street inside the bar. Next, a group under the flags of the DPR and the “Combat Brotherhood” began beating a man in a blue and yellow sweatshirt and breaking into the bar.
