In the Chelyabinsk region, believers were fined for possessing extremist literature

In the Chelyabinsk region, the prosecutor's office confiscated one literature from villages included in the Federal List of Extremist Materials. Five man fined.

On March 4, 2015, it became known that the Kunashak district the court of the Chelyabinsk region found five residents of the village of Khalitova guilty under Art. 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (mass distribution of extremist materials, included in the published federal list of extremist materials, and their storage for the purpose of mass distribution). The court fined each them for 1 thousand rubles.

It was decided to destroy the literature confiscated from believers.

What kind of literature was found among believers is not reported. The fact that believers were only "exchanged among themselves for enlightenment in the field of religion" suggests that we are not talking about the quantity necessary for mass distribution. Doubts about the legitimacy of the imposed fine are also caused by the fact that a significant part of religious literature on the Federal List of Extremist Materials was illegally banned.
