Moscow: the prosecutor's office demands that the poem "To Soviet Veterans" be declared extremist

The prosecutor's office of the Central Administrative District of Moscow demands that the polemical poem "To Soviet Veterans" be recognized as extremist materials.

On April 9, 2015 the prosecutor's office of the Central of the administrative district of Moscow reported a lawsuit to the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow on the recognition of the poem "To Soviet Veterans" as extremist material.

According to the prosecutor's office, this is found on the Internet the poem contains a " negative evaluation of veterans, including by their origin, being Russian "(original style preserved - Ed .).

The prosecutor's office did not indicate the authorship of the poem, but we we can assume that this work belongs to Boris Stomakhin and published on the banned site stomahin.info.

This poem is written in an extremely sharp polemical tone; may be considered offensive. However, we did not find any incitement of hostility towards the Russians in him. In addition, we believe that veterans of the Great Patriotic War are not are groups subject to protection by the anti-extremist legislation. We also recall that we are convinced that the concept "social group" should be excluded from membership anti-extremist articles, since it is not clearly defined in legislation.

The decision to ban the poem was made on April 16, 2015.
