Article “On Russian Madness” Recognized as Extremist

In Tyumen, an article with allegations of a "lack of intelligence" among Russians was recognized as extremist material.

On April 21, 2015, it became known that the Leninsky District Court of Tyumen satisfied the claim of the prosecutor's office of the Leninsky District of Tyumen and recognized the article "On Russian Madness" published in the online almanac "Swan" (lebed.com) as extremist material.

According to the authors of the examination, carried out at the initiative of the prosecutor's office, the abstracts of the article " are aimed at humiliating the dignity of a person or a group of persons on the grounds of nationality and origin, as well as belonging to a certain social group ."

The article "About Russian Madness", published on September 18, 2014 in the "independent Boston almanac" "Swan" (one of the oldest online publications in Russian), was written by a programmer and blogger from Lugansk Alexei Zavodyuk. The author of the material is trying to prove that Russians as a political nation are distinguished by a lack of intelligence (while referring to Academician Pavlov), "the main source of the problems of Russia, Ukraine, Donbass and Crimea is a lack of intelligence ", and Ukrainians are generally smarter than Russians.

In our opinion, the recognition of this material as extremist is unlawful. In fact, this is a primitive quasi-historical analysis, one of numerous texts, the incorrectness of which is quite obvious, but the degree of danger is minimal, so the intervention of law enforcement agencies in such cases is unnecessary.
