The Tagansky District Court supported Roskomnadzor.
June 2, 2015 Tagansky district a Moscow court upheld the warning given to Granyam.Ru for publishing cover photo of the French weekly Charlie Hebdo.
The court agreed with the arguments Roskomnadzor on the inadmissibility of publishing a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad, with the fact that the department was unable to explain exactly what signs of extremism it contains.
Recall that the reason for issuing a warning about the inadmissibility of using the media to carry out extremist activity was the publication of "Faces" "New issue of Charlie Hebdo will be released in three million copies", which was illustrated by "image (drawing) insulting religious feelings of Muslims, inciting religious hatred." Roskomnadzor demanded immediately delete or edit the material. The editors felt that the warning was issued illegally and refused to comply with the requirements of the department.
We believe that the actual a ban on the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, introduced by Roskomnadzor, violates the right to freedom of speech.
