The European Union intends to extend sanctions against Crimea for another year

In the coming days, the European Union will announce the extension of sanctions against Crimea for another year. About this, as Rosbalt reports , said Christian Brown's Permanent Representative of Luxembourg under the EU.

“I do not know when exactly, but the fundamental decision has been made. Perhaps this will happen at the next EU Council for Foreign Affairs (June 22). We are talking about an extension for a year, this will happen in the coming days, ”said Brown.

Recall that the term of existing sanctions imposed on the peninsula expires on June 23. These sanctions, in particular, relate to the ban on investment and restriction of imports into the EU goods from Crimea and Sevastopol. Over the next weeks, the EU may also extend wide economic and individual sanctions against Russia until the end of January next year.
