The problem of the construction of trunk pipelines in the Caspian Sea should be considered primarily through the prism of ecology and only at an angle of the economy. Such a statement was made by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alexander Lukashevich, whose commentary was published on the website of the Foreign Ministry.

“The Caspian Sea -Ozero is extremely sensitive to the slightest changes in the external environment, the causes of which can become, in particular, the laying of transcasspian pipes, the functioning of pipelines or, God forbid, the accident in this system,” Lukashevich said. According to him, in the EU reports on the construction of a gas pipeline, "prevails a subjective judgment, a politician is eagerly dominating the ecology."

The official also believes that unilateral actions for the construction of TKG can lead to a demolition of trust between the Caspian countries. “It is possible that this is exactly what the Lobbists of the project from among the non -regenerations achieve, offering themselves to the Caspians as“ strategic partners ”and Sulia to the supporters of the pipeline all kinds of political dividends,” the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs believes.
