A protest rally against the proposed development of Malinovka Park was held in St. Petersburg

June 10 deputies of the Legislative Assembly in the second reading adopted the amendment proposed by Vitaly Milonov to the General Plan of the city, translating the territory of Malinovka Park from the category of recreational lands to the category land for business development. In case the amendment is adopted in final reading, for the construction of the temple, the cancellation of which local residents achieved in 2014, more than 2 hectares of the park will be allocated.

On June 13, about 800 people came out to protest. Members shares pulled construction tape along the site of the proposed construction and stood along it, holding hands. Speakers talked about there is no need to build a new temple in the park, since the existing one is not is being filled.

During the action, a meeting was held with deputies of the Legislative Assembly Maxim Reznik and Boris Vishnevsky, who oppose the development of the park.

More than a thousand signatures have already been collected against Milonov's amendment. Protesters was supported by the actor Oleg Basilashvili, who promised to send a corresponding appeal Governor Georgy Poltavchenko.
