Residents of Novokuznetsk protest against the construction of a temple in Skazka Park

Residents of Novokuznetsk are protesting against the construction of a temple in the park, on the site of a playground.  

On June 18, 2015, it became known that the residents of Novokuznetsk are protesting against the construction of an Orthodox church in Skazka Park, located on at the intersection of Kirov Street and Kurako Avenue.

activists appealed to the city administration with a protest against the construction and received an answer that the project was approved in December 2014, including by local residents.

The main reason for the protest is the lack of playgrounds and green areas.

“ We always go here to this park, we walk, there is a very beautiful corner for children. If the temple is placed here, I will still be against it! You can put a temple anywhere, well, there is a place for a temple, I don’t mind, you can put a temple anywhere, but let’s leave this patch for the kids, let them play! ”, local residents tell reporters.

Except Moreover, the protesters assure, within walking distance from the park (on Entuziastov Ave.) there is already a functioning temple.
