Moscow authorities announced the cessation of construction of a temple in Torfyanka Park pending a court decision

The Moscow authorities decided to stop work on construction of an Orthodox church in the park "Torfyanka" before the court solutions. Protesters from both sides were asked to leave the scene of the conflict.

June 26, 2015 Prefect of the Northeast administrative district of Moscow Valery Vinogradov announced the termination construction work in the park "Torfyanka" until the decision of the court. According to him construction equipment will be removed, tents and awnings on both sides will be removed.

The prefect addressed the rector of the future church, the priest Oleg Shalimov with a request not to allow prayer standing near the disputed area. The official urged the deputies not to use the situation "in one way or another" .

“Our task is to make sure that passions subside, and then wait for the court's decision. We will observe it with the utmost precision , - said V. Vinogradov.

Recall that residents of two microdistricts are on duty in the park for a week to prevent illegal construction work. They tried to challenge the legality of the construction through the courts. The Moscow City Court sent the claim for a new consideration to the Babushkinsky District Court. His verdict and urged to wait for the prefect.
