
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the appointment of Vasily Gritsak to the post of head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). According to the 112 Ukraine channel, 340 deputies voted for the corresponding decision.
The Samopomich faction previously stated that there would be no Gritsak for the candidacy. However, the deputy groups “Vidrodrozhennya” and “The will of the people” supported the candidacy approved by the president of June 18,
Valentina Nalyvaichenko was dismissed from the post of chairman of the SBU on June 18. This decision was supported by 248 people's deputies. Gritsak, as the First Deputy Nalvaichenko, should take his position according to the procedure before the appointment of the new head of the special services.
