“Silver Rain” asked the prosecutor’s office to evaluate the actions of the Orthodox Christians who almost disrupted the concert

The radio station “Silver Rain” appealed to the prosecutor’s office with a request to evaluate what happened during the concert on July 4, when several dozen Orthodox Christians broke onto the stage.

On July 6, 2015, the director of the Silver Rain radio station, Dmitry Savitsky, filed a complaint with the prosecutor’s office about the actions of Archpriest Dimitry Smirnov and his parishioners who tried to disrupt the concert for the radio station’s anniversary.

“There are a number of questions to which I would like to hear answers: who gave clergy the right to break into a private event, violate all existing laws of the Russian Federation, and maim people,” D. Savitsky said in a message.

As probable reasons for what happened, he points out the desire to carry out a PR campaign for the church, someone’s order, or the “impudence” of priests who do not agree with the secular nature of society.

The head of the radio station also quotes a dialogue with D. Smirnov, in which the priest demands that all public events be coordinated with the parish, citing the following reasoning: “This is our territory, we are the masters here.” Sources
