Officials of two Russian regions banned the registration of divorces on the day of Orthodox patrons of marriage.
On July 7, 2015 Rossiyskaya Gazeta announced the decision the authorities of the Kaluga and Tula regions do not register divorces July 8 - in families, love and fidelity. Recall that on this day the Russian Orthodox Church celebrates the memory of Saints Peter and Fevronia, who are considered the patrons of marriage.
Officials explained this decision by the need to combat divorces.
