The Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church swapped the places of two metropolitans

At a meeting of the Holy Synod, it was decided to move the Metropolitan Kazan and Tatarstan to the Simbirsk department, and Simbirsk and Novospassky - to Kazanskaya.

On July 13, 2015, a meeting of the Holy Synod took place Russian Orthodox Church.

The synod, in particular, changed the heads of the Tatarstan and Simbirsk metropolises: Metropolitan Anastassy of Kazan and Tatarstan was transferred to the Simbirsk cathedra, and Metropolitan Feofan of Simbirsk and Novospassky - to Kazan.

In addition, for the vacant Klintsov diocese of Bryansk Metropolia, it was decided to appoint Hieromonk Vladimir (Novikov), who will consecration as bishop of Klintsovsky and Trubchevsky.

The Synod approved a special day of prayer for the environment - September 1, the day of special prayer for God's creation.
