Rosselkhoznadzor explained the impossibility of distributing sanctions products

The Rosselkhoznadzor said that there is no mechanism for the transfer of sanctions products in social institutions. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the deputy head of the Rosselkhoznadzor in Moscow, the Moscow and Tula regions of Yevgeny Antonov.

“Often, many say that it is necessary to transfer these products to orphanages and so on. There is no mechanism, the safety of the products is not guaranteed, the storage periods are very small, it is difficult to bring to a particular consumer, ”Antonov said, noting that the volume of sanctioned products detected is not so large. “It will be only two, a maximum of three hundred tons of products,” he said.

Antonov also noted that work is underway to identify such products not only at customs, but also in the country's stores, and for this year the Rosselkhoznadzor planned 3.5 thousand inspections.

“Given that we have about 300 people are engaged in these checks, we are talking about 5-7 checks per person per month,” Antonov said.

Today in Russia they began to destroy the sanctions products illegally falling into the country. The first case was the elimination of nine tons of cheese in the Belgorod region. Products were launched under a rink, and then it is buried. In Orenburg, 20 tons of sanctions cheese from Latvia were destroyed, in Novosibirsk - 650 kg of Polish apples. In Smolensk, it is planned to destroy 55 tons of nectarines and tomatoes illegally imported into the country. In St. Petersburg, they are preparing to destroy more than 40 tons of illegally imported fruits from Morocco, in Moscow they found 28 tons of tomatoes and apples from Poland - they will also be destroyed.

Earlier, on the website of Change.org, activists asked an open letter to the President of the Russian Federation with a request to cancel the law on the destruction of sanctions products and the transfer of them to socially unprotected categories of citizens. On August 6, more than 276 thousand people signed the appeal.
