The pogrom in Manege was recognized as petty hooliganism

Two activists of “God’s Will” were fined 1 thousand rubles for the pogrom in Manege. The prosecutor's office refused to initiate a criminal case against Enteo.

On September 7, 2015, it became known that the prosecutor’s office refused to initiate criminal proceedings against the police against the leader of the Orthodox movement “God’s Will” Dmitry Tsorionov (Enteo), who, together with a support group, staged a pogrom at an exhibition of Soviet sculptures in Manege.

On the same day, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow fined two of Tsorionov’s associates - Pavel Timonin and Lyudmila Esipenko - 1 thousand rubles, finding them guilty under Art. 20.1 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (petty hooliganism).

The administrative case of Tsorionov himself and another “God’s Will” activist Georgy Soldatov will be heard in court on September 15.

D. Tsorionov considered the verdict of P. Timonin and L. Esipenko unfair and announced his intention to appeal it. He threatened the organizers of the exhibition with the initiation of a criminal case under articles of “insulting the feelings of believers” and “inciting hatred,” stating that he had the corresponding expert opinion.

On September 8, a representative of the Moscow prosecutor's office announced that the procedural investigation into the pogrom in Manege had been extended until September 13. The decision to initiate a criminal case or to refuse to initiate it has not yet been made.

Let us remind you that the damage caused by the pogromists is estimated at 1.1 million rubles. The works they damaged were lost “in whole or in part.”
