The court acquitted the base jumpers and imprisoned the roofer

The Tagansky District Court of Moscow fully acquitted four base jumpers in the case of an action on a high-rise building. Rufer Vladimir Podrezov was found guilty of hooliganism and vandalism motivated by political hatred and sentenced to a real term.

September 10, 2015 Tagansky District Court of Moscow in full justified the base jumpers Anna Lepeshkina, Alexander Pogrebov, Aleksey Shirokozhukhov, Yevgeny Korotkov, accused under Part 2 of Art. 213 and according to part 2 of Art. 214 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism and vandalism committed by a group based on political hatred). Petersburg roofer Vladimir Podrezov found guilty under the same articles and sentenced to 2 years and 3 months in prison.

August 20, 2014 unidentified persons hung the flag of Ukraine and painted a star in the colors of the Ukrainian flag on the spire of a high-rise building on Kotelnicheskaya embankment in Moscow. Later Responsibility for the action was taken by the Ukrainian roofer Pavel Ushivets (Grisha Mustang, Mustang Wanted), he was charged in absentia with the same articles, and then was arrested and sent to a pre-trial detention center accused of complicity rufer Vladimir Podrezov.

Recall that a group of base jumpers from the very beginning completely their innocence denied her involvement in the action, later Podrezov declared . Base jumpers held under house arrest six months; they subsequently appealed arrest at the ECtHR.

We also recall that we do not agree with the qualification of this case: it is completely unclear who Podrezov could be guided by hatred for, in addition, these actions should be considered a minor rather than gross violation of public order and considered as an administrative offense under Art. 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (petty hooliganism).
