On October 5, 2015, it became known that, by decision of the FSB, Lama Shivalha Rinpoche, who lived in the republic for 11 years, was expelled from Tuva.
The expulsion of a popular Buddhist figure caused discontent believers. In this regard, the head of Tuva, Sholban Kara-ool, organized a meeting with the head of the republican department of the FSB Oleg Bolomozhnov and the chairman of the public Enerel Foundation by Aneta Oorzhak.
According to A. Oorzhak, during the conversation it turned out that local the authorities were not the initiator of the deportation of the lama. Believers of Tuva and other regions prepared an open appeal to Vladimir Putin with a request to allow the lama continue working in Russia.
