Established by the Valaam Monastery, the company "SENT" filed another nine lawsuits for the eviction of local residents from the "Winter Inn" on the island, where It is planned to create a pilgrimage center. On October 6, 2015 it became known that the SENT company, established by the Valaam Monastery, filed nine more lawsuits to evict residents from the island. Among those evicted is an employee of the natural park "Valaam Archipelago" Kirill Smyshnikov and families born and lived life on the island of Sergei Gruzdev and Alexander Petukhov, former workers power plants.
The lawsuits are related to the claims of the monastery for one of the two apartment buildings on the island - "Winter Hotel", on the basis of which It is planned to create a pilgrimage center. The evicted are provided with apartments in Sortavala, but they do not want to move.
The interests of the inhabitants of the island are represented by a deputy of the city council Sortavaly Sergey Grigoriev. He filed a counterclaim to invalidate the decision on the recognition of apartments unsuitable.
Previously, the monastery achieved the eviction of several people court.
