On the western bank of the Jordan River near the city of Hevron, the Israeli military shot the Palestinian, who wounded the ZAHAL officer with a knife. In total, from the beginning of October at least nine died and several dozen Israelis were injured. A wave of terrorist attacks in Israel and riots in the Palestinian territories , called the Palestinian radicals "third intifada" still does not subside. How do Israeli society and the government react to the danger, who wins the information war and what are Arabs - Israeli citizens think about what is happening, many of whom were in a situation between a hammer and a gravity?
On Tuesday, the special services and military personnel of the Israeli defense army (IDF) in Judea and Samaria detained at least 35 Palestinian Arabs, including about 10 active members of the Hamas group, for incitement to terrorist attacks and calls to continue attacks on Jews. Among them is one of the leaders of Hamas Musab Hassan Yusef . Israeli authorities say that they understand that most attacks make loners, in most cases, Arabs who have Israeli citizenship, not associated with Hamas or other radical groups. However, according to the Israeli government, it is precisely the leaders of the Palestinian groups, primarily a hamas, which controls the gas sector, is guilty of provoking a new wave of terror that collapsed into the country. About this and how Israeli society and the government react to danger, Radio Liberty is told by a political scientist and journalist from the city of Haifa Alexander Kogan :
- How much do you yourself feel the danger and tension today, going outside, or when do your loved ones go to the streets?
A rally of Palestinian Arabs in the gas sector with calls to attack the Israeli-Jews. October 13
- I have a rather rich experience, I live in Israel for a quarter of a century, and during this time we had the first intifada , the second intifada , and now the third is coming. Buses, however, do not explode, but, nevertheless, the sensations are quite unpleasant. There was a moment when eight terrorist attacks occurred within one day, and people literally preferred not to go out without any need-or, leaving, took something heavy with them. There is a myth that the Israelis are all abstractly armed - of course, this is not so, ordinary people are simply not supposed to. And they went out with umbrellas, sticks, there were a lot of funny photographs that people carry with them. Women go with rolling pins in order to apply them for self -defense if necessary. The situation has become a little less tense now, because additional attacks of the police are introduced into places where terrorist attacks and attempts at terrorist attacks often occur. In other cities, especially "mixed", that is, where both Jews and Arabs are adjacent to, for example, my Haifa, people try to limit visits to some areas. But not as much as it happened, say, during the previous intifada, when there were mass terrorist attacks using firearms, bus explosions, and so on.
- In Israeli society, very different grades sound and the Israeli themselves are offered a variety of recipes for leaving the crisis, sometimes completely fantastic.
- In fact, any such situation leads to the strengthening of society, to the fact that people begin to help their neighbors more and more often. There are disputes of a political plan about what needs to be done further, and indeed, various fantastic sentences are put forward. Because very many people do not see alternatives and exit in the measures that are proposed by the government. The people bring food, as usual with us, soldiers, support the police - despite the fact that our country was not very good recently, I would say, attitude towards the police, due to a number of scandals that were in its leadership and not only in the leadership.

- And the Israelis in the mass tend to lay guilt for exacerbation of the situation on the government? Perhaps something was done, which should not have been done, and something, on the contrary, was not done. And how do ministers react to all this and Benjamin Netanyahu himself?
-Firstly, over the 25 years of the peace process, almost all the Israelites were convinced, regardless of the political views that the side with which we supposedly must conclude peace agreements, negotiate and live in peace and tranquility, should not rely. That in any situation, absolutely any Palestinian politician, any Arab leader will ultimately declare that one of us needs to be cut-if not all, then selectively, that is, by regions, or by beliefs, or by views, but ultimately-"still needs to be cut." And since there are no special hope for the Palestinians, there is a certain hope that all the same, the authorities that we choose, how to understand this situation. It is clear that "this is not tango", as they say, two are needed for tango. And it is clear that in this dance you need to pull yourself together and "start leading" in order to lead this to that dance, that is, to the situation that is more profitable for us. Secondly, the authorities, judging by the latest polls of public opinion, have no adequate answers to the current situation. There are a number of reasons for this. Now we have quite a rather strange relationship with the United States, so it is quite possible that the government does not want to take too sharp steps so as not to bring a censure from the United States on its heads. Although it still happens - we are accused of excessive violence of response to street violence. And a simple audience, especially in mixed cities, ordinary people remember that we had bills, in particular, regarding loyalty and citizenship. Yes, we are saying that the vast majority of the attacks that have happened in recent weeks are the attacks carried out by Israeli citizens, the Arabs who support the Palestinians in their “struggle for Al-Aksa Mosque”, which the Zionists allegedly want to destroy, or to bury, bury or blow up again.

Political analyst Alexander Kogan about the wave of violence in Israel
In fact, the status quo status is established on the temple grief, which discriminates with Jews who cannot be prayed there, and vice versa, gives Muslims all the possibilities and opens all the doors before them. The Jew cannot move along the temple grief unaccompanied, has no right to pray, they can be detained there if he began to sway, and it seemed to someone from the Muslims there that he was praying. In this regard, people begin to think and recall that three years ago proposals sounded to deprive the citizenship of Israeli Arabs, who are not loyal to the state and support terrorist activities.

The leaders of the Arab public recently (hoping, obviously, lower the intensity of extremism) encouraged almost a billion shekels for the needs of their sector. But in fact, almost the entire leadership of the Israeli Arabs, located in the Knesset, ignores what is happening with the Israeli Arabs, was engaged in Palestinian problems. One of the details of criticism addressed to the government: if you want to really somehow help improve the situation, you do not need to attract Arab deputies for this! It is necessary to give directly funds to their municipalities, support those who are loyal, who are not in support of the intifada, Al-Aksa number two, and so on. The audience requires a more stringent reaction to terrorist attacks, the death penalty for terrorists. Therefore, this is not the first, not the second, not the tenth, not a hundredth case when the terrorists leaving the prisons again return to their activities. And the ministers are noisily arguing among themselves. Although they were now even forbidden to go to meetings with smartphones so that no one would record, God forbid, a heated discussion and disputes and did not issue information out. A lot of ministers require tightening the reaction to what is happening.
- Do you have familiar Israeli Arabs?
- Yes, of course, we live in a mixed city. The vast majority of them are Christians, but there are Muslims.
“And what do they say about what is happening?”
-In the mixed cities, what happened, and also the Arabic deputies of the Knesset, which was announced in the Arab sector, in support of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, led to the fact that the number of customers, customers of Arab entrepreneurs decreased very sharply, almost 80-90 percent in some areas. Jews simply stopped buying from the Arabs, going to the restaurants that they hold.

This is due to the fact that, as I said, the vast majority of terrorists are Israeli Arabs, and the fact that a lot of Israeli Muslims closed their enterprises and did not come to work when this strike was announced. The average Israeli-Jewish is a situation in which you come to your neighbor in a restaurant or a shop, and then, for absolutely far-fetched reasons, a person closes the shop and supports those who kill you, allows you to draw only one conclusion: that you simply will not come there anymore. The Israeli Arabs-Christian, unfortunately, suffered from this very large-scale, because they are in the middle, between two chairs. Some of them were forced to join the strike for obvious reasons: in Arab settlements, if you do not go with the whole crowd, the crowd goes against you. Some of them tried to distance themselves from this. For example, we were glad to know that those of our friends we are going to, those people we know do not participate in the strike.

- There is a feeling that Israel is now noticeably losing the information war in the outside world.
- Yes, and so it was always. But, unfortunately, the situation worsens more and more, and there are a number of reasons, objective and not objective. We recently notice that many media around the world, which, in theory, had to support us, express an absolutely incomprehensible point of view. They publish an interview completely sucked from a finger with some non-existent officials. Today, for example, we are engaged in the fact that we check where one of the Russian-speaking publications has interviewed with a certain anonymous "military personnel from the press of the Israeli defense army in Judea and Samaria." This is one of the things that embarrassed all the Russian -speaking Israelis who served in the army, and we are now trying to find out what we are talking about. We are very embarrassed by the situation in which the Western media publish messages about the attacks with the headlines "Four more Palestinians are shot at Israeli streets. There are wounded." Well, somewhere in the third paragraph it turns out that these Palestinians, in fact, ran with knives and first killed four people! The Israelis, by the way, are treated with humor, and we have various "photojabs" that are posted on Facebook.
Alexander Kogan
There are quite a lot of reasons for this, and here is one of the main explanations: foreign media are trying to hire in Israel of the Arabs, Muslim Arabs. Because you cannot take the Israeli Jew and send him, for example, to Gaza, so that he will interview the representatives of Hamas, asking them their point of view and after that-so that he survives. Therefore, you take the Arab Muslim, for whom the doors are open both there and there. And he can be an activist at least the "Islamic jihad" and will describe what is happening, respectively.
- A lot is said now, including different interlocutors of Radio Liberty that, by chance or not, a new wave of violence in Israel coincided with a sharp exacerbation of the Syrian war.
- There is a reason why she coincided. We are talking about the situation in the Palestinian autonomy, which cannot endure when other Middle Eastern themes rise on the air of the TV channels and on the front of the newspapers. Palestinian autonomy is not able to exist in the format in which it was created, due to the actions that were taken by her leadership over the past 20 years. Over the past 7 years, foreign directed into Palestinian autonomy amounted to about $ 16 billion - and this money has disappeared, went nowhere. Palestinian autonomy is necessary that the money continues to go!
At the moment when you cease to be the central topic in the media, of course, money goes to another place
At the moment when you cease to be the central topic in the media, of course, money goes to another place. There are people in the Arab world, in the Western world who want to help someone, some philanthropists who now see one Syria, it has become a key theme, it never leaves TV screens. Therefore, for the Palestinian autonomy, its leadership, the beginning of this intifada is a necessity. And, I emphasize, it was necessary to raise a topic that would not be connected with Palestinian independence! Because the topic of Palestinian independence is tired of everyone long ago. And then they found the “al-axa problem”, the holy place “which they want to destroy”. Naturally, it is much more hot, this topic can be promoted, and on the basis of this you can continue to receive financial injections. Therefore, of course, the theme of Syria is associated with the growth of violence in Israel, although not directly, ”says Alexander Kogan .
