Bataysk: a criminal case has been opened for publishing xenophobic text on the Internet

In November 2015, in the city of Bataysk, Rostov Region, initiated a criminal case under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code against a local resident who published some xenophobic text in the Internet.

In November 2015, in the city of Bataysk, Rostov Region, a criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting a national hate).

The case was initiated against a 21-year-old local woman who is suspected of having published some xenophobic text on the Internet. TO unfortunately, it is impossible to understand from the prosecutor's report what exactly it contained, and against whom it was directed. According to investigators, " the suspect placed on the Internet textual information stimulating national, religious and social hatred and enmity, as well as discrimination and humiliation people on political, ethnic, social and other grounds ”.

As for "social hatred", i.e. hatred towards a certain "social group", then we recall that the Center "Owl" advocates the exclusion of the vague concept of "social group" from composition of extremist articles.
