The leader of the Motherland party has developed a draft of "anti-terrorist" amendments to the law "On Education".
On December 18, 2015, it became known that the leader of the Rodina party, Alexei Zhuravlev, had developed a draft of "anti-terrorist" amendments to Art. 48 of the Law "On Education".
He proposes to supplement the first paragraph of this article with subparagraph 12: "[Teaching staff are obliged] to form an anti-extremist and anti-terrorist personal position among students, to explain the role of the state in the fight against extremism and terrorism ".
“ The teacher should know what terrorism and extremism are and what organizations are included in the list of banned in the territory of the Russian Federation. All teachers should have this information - both Russian language and literature, and mathematics. <…> And the principal of the school, in turn, should know that his teacher answers questions about Daesh correctly ,” Aleksey Zhuravlev believes.
The press service of the Ministry of Education declined to comment on the bill, as it has not yet been adopted by the State Duma.
