In December 2015, the Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky City Court considered a criminal case against an 18-year-old resident of the Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky district, Aleksey Z., and found him guilty under Part 1 of Art. 282 (inciting national hatred), Part 2 of Art. 280.1 of the Criminal Code (actions aimed at violating the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation).
According to the case file, the defendant was an adherent of nationalist ideology and shared the views of the Right Sector organization. In January 2015, he created a thematic group on one of the social networks and posted in free access on his page " a drawing and a caption to it containing insults against ... against Russians ." In February 2015, he posted on his page " a stylized image of an armed conflict and an inscription¸ calling for violent action against all those who approve of the annexation of Crimea to Russia ".
The court sentenced Aleksey Z. to imprisonment for a term of 2 years 6 months suspended, with a probationary period of 2 years 6 months, with an additional punishment in the form of deprivation of the right to hold positions of state and municipal service for a period of 1 year.
