On February 10, 2016, the Belgorod Regional Court ordered the liquidation of the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses of Stary Oskol. The next day, a similar decision was made regarding the community in Belgorod.
February 10, 2016 Belgorod Regional court ruled to liquidate Starooskol organization of Witnesses Jehovah. According to the court, the activities of the organization did not comply with the law "On freedom of conscience and religious associations." The defendant stated that he intended to appeal the decision of the Belgorod Regional Court to the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.
On February 11, a similar decision was made with regard to the community of Jehovah's Witnesses in the city of Belgorod. The regional court decided to liquidate it and recognize it as an extremist organization.
On December 30, 2015, Fr. Prosecutor of the Belgorod Region, they were accepted for consideration in January 2016. The prosecutor's office stated in court that the organizations disseminated materials promoting the superiority or inferiority of a person on the basis of his religious affiliation or attitude to religion, and committed other violations of anti-extremist legislation.
