What happened (13.02 - 20.02)
A new case has been opened regarding online extremism. Moscow pro-Ukrainian activist Alexander Horrshr was detained on February 25 at his home, he was taken to the FSB headquarters, where he was interrogated in the case of calls for extremism for posts on the Internet. Khorrshr is in the status of a suspect, and he has been given a written undertaking not to leave the place. It is not yet known which posts we are talking about.
In addition, it immediately became known about five cases of dissemination of extremist information brought against Internet providers in Crimea. Experts do not remember that they have previously filed cases against providers who only provide technical means for disseminating information.
A significant event in Strasbourg: the European Court of Human Rights decided to pay compensation to Alexei Navalny and Pyotr Ofitserov, convicted in the “Kirovles Case”: according to the ECHR, their right to a fair trial was violated.

The Duma dealt a serious blow to the last bastion of freedom of assembly - single pickets, which until very recently did not require any form of approval. According to the amendments to the law on rallies, adopted immediately in the second and third readings , a notification is now required to hold a single picket “using quickly erected prefabricated structures.” In addition, the deputies agreed to equate car rallies to demonstrations - here we carefully figured out what this means.
Anniversary of the murder of Boris Nemtsov
Tomorrow, many cities will host rallies in memory of Boris Nemtsov, who was killed on February 27, 2015 on the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge. The organizers are faced with various obstacles: they are not only refused permission to hold events in the center , but are persecuted for old administrative cases , threatened , and beaten .

On February 25, the court fined musical saw performer Sergei Vyatkin ten thousand rubles for playing on the steps of a shopping center - what the police called “organizing a simultaneous mass gathering.” And on February 26, street musician Rustam Tolbeev’s passport and saxophone were taken away .
Shortly before the wedding in Moscow, Anastasia Zotova, the fiancée of Ildar Dadin, was detained along with her friends. A Putin mask was confiscated from Zotova’s friends, although no protocols were drawn up. This did not interfere with the wedding - it took place on February 25.
In Ulyanovsk, a visitor to a bandy matchwas fined for a poster with the words “Crimea is ours.” When he was detained, they attributed the poster to an “extremist character.” The court did not agree with this, but considered that the fan held a political picket at the match.
They tried to prevent Deputy Chairman of PARNAS Ilya Yashin from presenting a report on Kadyrov: on the eve of his speech, they were looking for a bomb in the party office. Later, the same thing happened during the days of reports in Moscow and St. Petersburg, but Yashin managed to bring the meeting to an end both times.

On March 1, a trial is expected in the case of Yabloko member Sergei Mitrokhin, who was detained for a single picket demanding Kadyrov’s resignation .
