A sergeant of the military commandant's office of Yevpatoria was fined for posting xenophobic articles on the social network VKontakte.

In early March 2016, a serviceman from the Yevpatoriya military commandant's office was fined for posting xenophobic articles on the VKontakte social network.

On March 3, 2016, the Crimean Garrison Military Court passed a sentence against a former soldier of the military commandant's office of Yevpatoria, who was charged under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting ethnic hatred).

The former sergeant, during his military service under a contract, posted two articles on his page on the VKontakte social network, in which the examination established " the presence of statements and information that contributed to inciting interethnic hatred and enmity ."

In court, the defendant pleaded guilty and explained that he was carried away by the ideology of Russian nationalism in 2009, but now he holds other views, and deleted his page on the social network.

The court fined him 70 thousand rubles.

The verdict of the court has not yet entered into force.
