In Grozny, the prosecutor's office required restaurants to identify Wi-Fi users

The prosecutor's office considered the lack of identification of Internet users in restaurants a violation of anti-extremist legislation.

On March 15, 2016, it became known that the prosecutor's office of the Leninsky district of Grozny made submissions on the elimination of violations of the law against the heads of the Yapona Khata and Vinchenets restaurants.

The reason was the results of an audit of compliance with the requirements of legislation on countering extremist activity and terrorism, which showed that the restaurants did not identify Wi-Fi users.

It should be noted that the responsibility for identifying users of public networks is assigned by the government to providers, and not to the management of cafes and restaurants. Currently, legislation (neither anti-extremist nor in the field of communications) does not provide for the responsibility of public catering enterprises for the absence of such an identification system.
