Remember how in Back to the Future 2, Marty McFly went to the future and got sneakers that lace up on their own? Nike has finally introduced the real version of such sneakers.
The Nike Hyperadapt 1.0 was created by designer Tinker Hatfield and Nike Senior Innovator Tiffany Beers. According to Beers, the laces tighten automatically when a person's heel touches a special sensor. There are two buttons on the side of the shoe that allow you to tighten or loosen the lacing.
There are no other details about the Nike Hyperadapt 1.0, but according to a video from Cristiano Ronaldo, glowing elements will be built into the sneaker.
The Nike Hyperadapt 1.0 will be available for the 2016 Christmas season. The sneakers will be available in three colors, but will only be available to users of the Nike+ app.
