On April 13, 2016, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Kostroma Region announced that in 2016 it stopped 18 administrative offenses for the swastika and the publication of extremist materials.
On April 13, 2016, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kostroma Region reported that since the beginning of the year, police officers 18 offenses related to the demonstration of Nazi paraphernalia and the publication of prohibited materials on social networks were suppressed. Established 11 people were punished for publishing "forbidden photos and videos" on the Internet materials". In relation to four of them, the court sentenced fines in the amount of 1000 to 1500 rubles. Another user is subjected to administrative arrest.

The SOVA Center is aware of the following administrative cases in the Kostroma Region:
- In April 2016 in Krasnoselsky and Makaryevsky districts initiated two cases of administrative offenses for demonstration of Nazi symbols on social networks in April 2016.
- In April 2016, in Buya, Kostroma region, a local resident was punished under Art. 20.29 Administrative Code (mass distribution of extremist materials) for the song "Immigrant, get out!" groups "Gangs of Moscow" in the social network.
- In March 2016, the Dimitrovsky District Court fined a local resident (b. 1994) under Article 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for publishing the band's song "Kolovrat" "Glory to Rus'!" and "Honor and Blood" in the social network.
