Alexander Podrabinek: Who did not encounter deception? You are offered to acquire something, painted virtues, promise a sea of pleasure. You come home, open, turn on, and this is not quite what you expected. Or even not at all.
And sometimes the country is offered a new political leader, they paint it in the best colors, and you give your only voice for him. And after the election, he comes to your house, and you see that this is not at all what you were counting on. Not at all what you promised and what you believed.
So it was for you that the goods were replaced, or were you too lazy to check it when they chose?
An unsuccessful purchase can be returned to the store. An unsuccessful policy to return to its original position is much more difficult. How many times in Russia were people promised one, but gave a completely different one?
An unsuccessful purchase can be returned to the store. Unsuccessful policy to return to its original position is much more difficult
Says Radio correspondent Freedom Andrei Korolev .
Andrey Korolev: October 25, 1917 according to the old style. The power in Petrograd is in the hands of armed workers and sailors, the Provisional Government is deposed. In Russia, the countdown of a new era begins, which almost 70 years later will be called a dive into myths. The new government, led by Vladimir Ulyanov, adopts the first laws on land, peace and power. The decree on the world proclaimed Russia's exit from the war and called on the peoples and governments of the warring countries to conclude a truce. The land decree canceled private ownership of land and established equalization rights of land use with periodic redistributions of the land. The decree on the authorities proclaimed the transition of the country's administration to the advice of workers, soldiers and peasant deputies. The new composition of the CEC was elected and the Council of People's Commissars, led by Lenin, was created. The government and its decrees had to act before the convocation of the Constituent Assembly.
For several decades of Soviet power, more than a thousand peasant uprisings and workers' rallies in Yekaterinoslav, Astrakhan, Votkinsk, Tula, Ufa and other cities have been drowned in the blood. The reprisals against people became the tougher, the more pathos were promises. The land decree as a socialization of agriculture without private property right has turned into a violent collectivization, which opened the sorester with the road to the Stalin Gulag and drowned the country in hunger. The result of the decree on the world was the signing of humiliating Brest agreements , in fact, unleashed the civil war within Russia. The decree on the authorities ended with the overclocking of the excessively liberal Constituent Assembly. The country finally embarked on the path of red terror, continuing to stuff ordinary citizens with newspaper bluff of industrialization, which actually performed with the hands of millions of political prisoners, and about the rights and freedoms that ended at the end of the feathers of Yezhov and Beria.
For several decades of Soviet power, more than a thousand peasant uprisings and working rallies have been drowned in the blood
Even the history of the war of the Soviet Union against Hitler is fulfilled by myths and legends on the verge of fictions. Lies will become a symbol for several post-war generations, from the promise of corn abundance and the final construction of communism in 1980, to the capture of Crimea, which put the country on the brink of international isolation.
Alexander Podrabinek: When totalitarianism collapsed, politicians had to seek support from society. At first there were even elections in the country. Politicians tried to please their voters. They tried to take into account the mood of the majority.
In the late 80s-early 90s, in the days of democratic changes, in order to get into power, it was necessary to look like a democrat.
Simply put, the task came down to look like a democrat, not being actually. Inflate the voter. To convince him of what really is not. Many of the so -called “foremen of perestroika” and “democrats of the first wave” coped with this task very successfully.
Now the question is not how the rogue has discredited in Russia the ideas of democracy and liberalism. Not even in what political inheritance they left behind. The question is how Russian society swallowed this bait. And in what bait he will be offered to swallow tomorrow.
When totalitarianism collapsed, politicians had to seek support from society
In the 90s, when political life blossomed in Russia, everyone who wanted to join power was recorded in the Democrats. Says journalist Roman Dobrokhotov.
Roman Dobrokhotov: To be honest, I can’t remember a single propagandist from even the most odious today's propagandists on television, whether deputies or journalists, anyone, who in the 90s would be on the other side of the barricades.
Alexander Podrabinek: New time required new views. And each time they were not shy in the new field. When the only goal is to break through to the authorities, what's the difference, what views to express?
Roman Dobrokhotov: If we look at such propagandists as, for example, Sergey Kurginyan, we will clearly see that at first he was a bright supporter of the CPSU, then publicly brightly supported the perestroika of Gorbachev, then even more odiously and brightly supported Yeltsin, he praised him with such excellent words, so it was just scary to read it. About what it is now, we also know.
When the only goal is to break through to the authorities, what's the difference, what views to express?
Alexander Podrabinek: We also know well such Duma characters as Irina Yarovaya and Elena Mizulina.
Irina Yarovaya, deputy of the State Duma from the United Russia party - co -author of laws on the protection of historical memory, the return of criminal liability for slander, the law on foreign agents.
All its legislative activity is aimed at increasing the number of prohibitions and tightening responsibility. She today is an ardent defender of the authorities and her faithful propagandist.
She once began as a prosecutor, then she was in the Yabloko party. The former chairman of Yabloko says Sergey Mitrokhin .
Sergey Mitrokhin
Sergei Mitrokhin: She was such an active, energetic woman, deputy, spoke about corruption and all sorts of other problems that existed. Then it was in the order of things, then no one punished anyone for this, did not deprive the deputy mandates.
Alexander Podrabinek: Her indifference to political ideas and fidelity to the one who is more successful, journalist George Jans notes.
For Yarovo that the Democratic Party, that any authoritarian is no difference
Georgy Jans: For Yarovoy, that a democratic party, that any authoritarian is no difference. There is a career question - how can you make a political career using one or another political party. In the province where she lived, the Yabloko was probably popular. Perhaps she considered that through the "Yabloko" you can make a political career and get to the capital. This is the dream of all provincial politicians - to get to the capital.
Alexander Podrabinek: No less than Yarovaya, deputy Elena Mizulina is also known.
She is a furious fighter with gay propaganda, abortion, obscenities, divorces, surrogate motherhood and foreign adoptive parents of Russian orphans. She advocates for censorship on the Internet, the leading role of Orthodoxy and an increase in “age of consent” from 16 to 18.
She considers herself a defender of traditional family values, but in her political biography only one “value” is noticeable - she jumped from one party to another, each time choosing the one that was, in her opinion, more promising.
Until 1991, she was in the CPSU, since 1995-in the "Yabloko", then he went over in the ATP. Now - in "Fair Russia".
Sergey Mitrokhin: Elena Mizulina moved to the ATP when the party was only created. She felt that this party, apparently, would enjoy greater support from the authorities. She held the “correct” position on the Second Chechen War. It was a serious watershed for people who were in Yabloko. Elena Mizulina realized that it was more promising now in the ATP, so first went there, and her further evolution is known.
The evolution of this variety of deputies is due to the struggle for political survival. These mutants adapt well to new conditions and easily change objects of their attachment
Alexander Podrabinek: The evolution of this variety of deputies is due to the struggle for political survival. These mutants adapt well to new conditions and easily change objects of their attachment.
Roman Dobrokhotov: These people do not particularly change in nature, they just, let's say, change their client. Therefore, nothing happens to them purely psychologically, and to calculate at what point they are sincere, and at which one is not, it is difficult, because, it seems to me, they themselves do not always understand this well. This is some kind of mixture between which man made himself sincerely believe, and some of his mercantile interests.
Alexander Podrabinek: However, no matter how muddy their ideological motifs are, mercantile considerations always remain in an important place. Sergei Mitrokhin recalls the claims of Irina Yarova.
Sergey Mitrokhin: The first thing she immediately wanted to get here was the car as soon as she became the deputy chairman. But we did not have such funds, so we could not satisfy this interest.
Alexander Podrabinek: No less requests were revealed among the future defender of the family values of Elena Mizulina.
Elena Mizulina greatly spoiled her image in Yaroslavl, because at some point she began to talk only about her apartment
Sergei Mitrokhin: On this she even greatly spoiled her image in Yaroslavl, where she was at first elected a deputy, and then she was simply not elected, because at some point she began to talk only about her apartment, that she had a good apartment, but they offer a bad one. This was what she said not only to us, her colleagues, but also under the camera in Yaroslavl.
Alexander Podrabinek: The Union of Right Forces became the launching pad for entering the orbit of power. His leaders Nikita Belykh and Sergey Kiriyenko safely joined the Putin's vertical.
Kiriyenko became the plenipotentiary of the President in the Volga Federal District, and then - the head of the state corporation Rosatom. Nikita Belykh left the ATP and became the governor of the Perm region.
Member of the Federal Political Council of the ATP Maria Gaidar, outraged by the betrayal of the party leader, said on this occasion that the whites sold his soul to the devil. However, not even a month passed, she changed her mind and went to work for him as an adviser.
Pavel Krasheninnikov, chairman of the Duma Committee on Legislation and a member of United Russia, also began a parliamentary career in the ATP.
Not only deputies of the parliament are enthusiastically falling under power. Sergei Markov, now representing a bright parody of a political scientist, began as a human rights activist
Not only deputies of the parliament are enthusiastically falling under power. Sergei Markov, now representing a bright parody of a political scientist, began as a human rights activist.
Roman Dobrokhotov: Sergey Markov was one of the main fighters for democracy in the 90s (though, now few recalls this). At first he was in the “For Human Rights” movement by the active assistant Lev Ponomarev. Leo Alexandrovich has many memories of how he helped him, contributed. In addition, he had his own projects, in particular, the well-known forum "Foros", which he began, if I am not mistaken, in the 90s. This forum was sponsored by IRI. And when he worked in a human rights party, there, respectively, grants were from NDI and other American organizations. Accordingly, Sergey Markov was just responsible for this direction of cooperation with the Americans, who have now turned into his main enemies.
Alexander Podrabinek: TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov, who is inspired by the Kremlin power today, was once listed in the ranks of the Democrats.
Roman Dobrokhotov
Roman Dobrokhotov: Journalist Vladimir Solovyov - how all is sparkling, ironic! All the same techniques that he now uses for his propaganda purposes, he used to use, on the contrary, like in the struggle for democracy. We remember what programs he led on the REN-TV television company. He was visiting Anna Politkovskaya (this is already in the early 2000s), they exposed the crimes of the regime together.
Vladimir Soloviev lived in America for some time, where he worked as participating in the election campaign of George Bush Jr.
And even earlier (few people know about this), Vladimir Solovyov lived in America for some time, where he was earned by participating in the election campaign of George Bush Jr., was, in fact, a professional agitator for the American president. Now the president has changed, but in general, all his techniques, skills are still relevant.
Alexander Podrabinek: If all these characters say that their activities are similar to political prostitution, then they will probably be offended by Irina Yarovaya for the article by George Jans “Political prostitution changes the floor”.
However, they have no idea about reputation. This concept has long disappeared from the lexicon of Russian politics.
George Jans
George Jans: “Reputation” - we have no such concept, probably, since the time of 1917. And in today's life, in my opinion, politicians do not know such a thing, and that on the left, that on the right, in the opposition, in power. Spit in the eyes - God's dew, everything is fine ...
Alexander Podrabinek: In the affection of their political position to the current conjuncture, these people do not see anything bad. Such, in their opinion, is politics. This is the policy to which they are used to. They consider it normal.
Meanwhile, it is possible that people gradually begin to understand: the success of tomorrow depends on the correctness of the choice made today.
If all these characters say that their activity is similar to political prostitution, then they will probably be offended
How great this understanding will be shown by the nearest elections. No, not those that will pass this fall, but the real ones, which someday and take place.
And then it will be necessary not to repeat the mistakes and not succumb to the temptation to support the most visible and the most generous promises, only because they can be seen and heard better than others. Look at everyone who promises to bring Russia to democracy - are they capable of this? Do they want this?
Such people appear today. Sometimes they act in agreement with the Kremlin, carefully imitating independence, such as Mikhail Prokhorov. Sometimes they are advanced on their own initiative, such as Mikhail Khodorkovsky. And sometimes we simply do not know which of these two categories they belong.
Mikhail Khodorkovsky, who has been in prisons and falsified charges in prisons and camps for ten years, was considered political prisoner, although the enemy was not an existing political system. Rather, on the contrary, he was part of it, a successful part of the financial and political elite.
Vladimir Putin, who brought him up on a disrespectful billionaire, all the power of the administrative resource. The abuse of law was so frank, cynical and systemic that the case acquired a political coloring.
The position of Mikhail Khodorkovsky on a number of questions is far from liberal and democratic
Having served ten years, Khodorkovsky gave President Putin a petition for pardon and was pardoned eight months before the end.
Having left Russia immediately after the liberation from the camp, Khodorkovsky after some time began political activities in Russia, without leaving Western Europe, where he lived.
He positions himself as a democrat and liberal, but, as we see, in this way many positioned themselves. And where are they now?
Already now it is clear that the position of Khodorkovsky on a number of issues is far from liberal and democratic. In 2008, Mikhail Khodorkovsky supported the entry of Russian troops into South Ossetia and approved the recognition of the sovereignty of Abkhazia and South Ossetia by Russia. Later, while maintaining democratic rhetoric, he at the same time demonstrated imperial and nationalist features.
From an interview with the chief editor of the weekly “The New Times” Evgenia Albats - Mikhail Khodorkovsky about the department of the North Caucasus from Russia.
Mikhail Khodorkovsky
Mikhail Khodorkovsky: I consider the war to be very bad, but if it is: the branch of the North Caucasus or war, which means war. If you ask me: personally will I go to fight or not? I'll go. This is our land, we won it. There is no earth not conquered in the world today, the whole earth has once been conquered by someone. Here is the North Caucasus won by us.
Evgenia Albats: Are you an imperialist?
I am to a certain extent a nationalist
Mikhail Khodorkovsky: No. I am to a certain extent a nationalist.
Alexander Podrabinek: Murderous logic: "This land is because we conquered it." That is, for example, if I, using the weakness or absent -mindedness of a passerby, took a wallet from him in a dark lane, then his money is considered my legal prey. From now on and forever!
Khodorkovsky returned to the topic of imperial excuses in connection with the annexation of Crimea.
Judge for yourself.
