Trial in the case of Dmitry Demushkin

In Moscow, a trial began in a criminal case against one of the leaders of the association "Russians" nationalist Dmitry Demushkin.

On May 6, 2016, the Nagatisky District Court of Moscow began consideration of the criminal case in relation to Dmitry Demushkin. He is charged under Part 1 of Art. 282 UK (incitement of national hatred or enmity).

According to investigators, between 2011 and 2013 Demushkin posted in free access on his page, "a number of articles extremist content with the aim of inciting hatred and enmity towards certain group of people". According to the nationalist himself, the reason for initiation of the case was the appearance on his page in VKontakte photographs of the banner from the Russian March 2014. Formerly Dmitry Demushkin was the leader of the banned organizations "Slavic Union (SS)" and "Ethnopolitical organization Russians".
At the initiative of the prosecutor's office, the hearing of the case is held behind closed doors. During the meeting, Demushkin pleaded not guilty. At the first hearing, the court listened to an expert who conducted a psychological and linguistic examination for the investigation.

The second witness for the prosecution, George Borovikov testified in the case. Recall that in June 2014 Borovikov was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for assault, robbery and torture of a "comrade-in-arms" from Ulan-Ude. Borovikov suggested that the author of the text "Project Evil Kazakh" may be Alexander Belov, that Vladimir Basmanov may be involved in the drafting of the text (Potkin). He also suggested that Potkin worked in the interests of Ablyazov, and his accomplices may be Anton "Severny" Zhurbenko and Peter Miloserdov. Borovikov said that Potkin allegedly constantly flew to England and every time after returning to Russia he tried to any public events of the "Russians" association.

May 19 in defense of Demushkin TV presenter, member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for development of civil society and human rights Maxim Shevchenko. He noted the success of cooperation with Demushkin "on issues of interethnic relations.

Further, it is planned to interrogate rapper Roman (Zhigan) Chumakov as a defense witness in a criminal case.
