In Ustyuzhna, Vologda Oblast, two churches occupied by museum expositions were transferred to the ownership of the Metropolia. The authorities have not yet picked up a new building for the museum.
On May 16, 2016, it became known that the Cherepovets diocese was being transferred two museum objects.
During the meeting of the Bishop of Cherepovets and Belozersky Flavian with the head of the Territorial Administration of the Federal Agency for management of state property in the Vologda region, Lilia Ermolenko was an act of acceptance and transfer to the diocesan property of the Cathedral of the Nativity was signed Holy Virgin of the city of Ustyuzhna. The cathedral, built in 1690, is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance. The cathedral houses expositions of the Ustyuzhensky Museum of Local Lore, but on the days of Orthodox holidays prayers are held.
