Jehovah's Witness fined in Bashkiria

The court fined a resident of Bashkiria for allowing wishing to familiarize themselves with the publications of Jehovah's Witnesses. This was regarded as unauthorized public action.  

On May 18, 2016, it became known that a resident of the city of Uchaly in Bashkiria Rustem Nabiullin fined under art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (violation of the established procedure for organizing or holding a meeting, rally, demonstration, procession or picketing).

In February 2016, he stood near the shopping center at the stand with the literature of Jehovah's Witnesses, give an opportunity to those who wish to get acquainted with it. The prosecutor's office, and then the court, considered this participation in an unauthorized public event.

The court of first instance fined the believer 15,000 rubles, but the Supreme Court of the Republic of Bashkortostan reduced the amount of the fine to 10 thousand rubles.
