Deputies of the Chita City Duma voted against the construction of a temple in the park

Probably, taking into account the protests of Chita residents against the construction of a temple in the park, the deputies of the Chita City Duma voted against the construction of the temple.  

On May 25, 2016 in Chita, opponents of the construction of an Orthodox church on the territory of the MZhK park held several pickets near the management committee property. The picket was timed to coincide with the discussion of the problem of building up the park by deputies of the city duma and officials of the mayor's office.

Among the picketers were representatives movement "Hope of Russia" and members of the Communist Party. They held posters in their hands: "We not against temples, we are against temples in parks”, “Think of children, don't ruin the park", "Park - the only green space in our area.”

On May 26, it became known that deputies and officials voted against the construction of the temple in the square.
