A sentence was passed in Samara for involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir

Resident of Samara, previously served time for participation in activities Hizb ut-Tahrir, again sentenced to a penal colony for involvement in this organization.

On June 9, 2016, the Moscow District Military Court, at an offsite hearing in Samara, convicted Fanis Gainutdinov . He was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization activities of an extremist organization) and Part 2 of Art. 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in activities of a terrorist organization).

According to the court and investigation, he is a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir and attracted new members to the organization. In 2005 he was already convicted under the same articles for involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir.

The court sentenced F. Gainutdinov to six years in a general colony mode.

Recall that F. Gainutdinov was arrested in Samara in July 2015. Previously, it was reported that During the search, in addition to Islamic literature, weapons were found. However, he was not charged with illegal possession of a weapon. The convict himself stated that he had left Hizb ut-Tahrir.

The persecution of Hizb ut-Tahrir members under anti-terrorist articles and accusing them of terrorism only on the basis of party activities (holding meetings, reading literature, etc.) we consider unlawful.
