In the Krasnodar Territory, 22-year-old resident of Ust-Labinsk Ivan Sinyavsky was convicted for a text on a social network calling for violence against non-Muslims.
On July 4, 2016, the Ust-Labinsky District Court of the Krasnodar Territory issued a sentence against 22-year-old local resident Ivan Sinyavsky. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremist activities).
The court established that Sinyavsky posted in free access on his personal page in one of the social networks " a text calling for violent actions against a group of persons united on religious grounds and not being Muslims ."
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case was carried out by the Regional Directorate of the FSB of Russia.
The indictment in the case was approved by the prosecutor of the Krasnodar Territory.
The court appointed Sinyavsky 10 months in prison to be served in a colony-settlement.
The verdict has not entered into force.
