The Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug has completed the investigation of a criminal case initiated against a resident of Nizhnevartovsk, accused of involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir and disseminating xenophobic statements on the VKontakte social network. The case has been taken to court.

September 28, 2016 Prosecutor's Office of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra announced the completion of the investigation of the criminal case, filed against a resident of Nizhnevartovsk, accused of involvement in "Hizb ut-Tahrir" and the dissemination of xenophobic statements in the social network "In contact with".

The criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 205.5 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization) and Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (excitation hate). The investigation found that the man was taking participation in the activities of a banned organization, as well as in November 2015, “ deliberately posted videos on a social network justifying the need for hostility, riots, as well as the use of violence against representatives certain nation ."
