Old Believers of Krasnoyarsk were allowed to expand the site for the construction of a temple

The authorities of Krasnoyarsk gave permission for the construction Old Believer church in the city center, while the expansion was agreed site.

September 28, 2016 Krasnoyarsk authorities gave permission for the construction of an Old Believer church in downtown.

With a request to allocate a site, the Old Believer community applied in 2014. The authorities then gave permission to build on the street. Kirova, 47, but the parish considered that the approved territory would not be enough.

“In order to build a building on this site, we will have to retreat 6 meters from the red lines. Since the territory is intersection of two streets, then the indentation is obtained from two sides, i.e. area becomes even smaller. In this case, the temple will not be built. <…> Therefore, we placed the building within the allotted territory, but it occupied it completely, for which they applied for permission to the architecture department. Additional territory is needed for ritual events, ”- explained the architect Alexander Yankevich.

The current resolution of the mayor allows to leave beyond the boundaries of the original site. Sources
