In October 2016, a local resident in the Smolensk region was brought to administrative responsibility for posting extremist material on a social network.
According to the materials of the case, on a page in one of the social networks owned by a local resident, a material was posted in the public domain that was recognized as extremist and included in the federal list of extremist materials.
The prosecutor of the Industrial District of Smolensk ruled to initiate an administrative case under Art. 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (mass distribution of extremist materials).
The Magistrate's Court brought the man to administrative responsibility in the form of a fine of 3,000 rubles.
Extremist material removed.
