In Blagoveshchensk, 23-year-old Maxim Malkin received a year and a half suspended sentence for posting xenophobic materials on the VKontakte social network.
In early October 2016, the Blagoveshchensky District Court passed a sentence on 23-year-old local resident Maxim Malkin. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting national hatred and enmity).
According to the case file, from March to December 2014, Malkin posted for free access on his page on the social network VKontakte "images that humiliate the religious feelings of believers, calling for inciting and maintaining hatred and enmity against non-Russians." According to the conclusions of the examination, the materials are aimed at inciting hatred and enmity, and also humiliate the honor and dignity of citizens.
The defendant pleaded guilty to the crime. The court sentenced Malkin to a sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison on probation.
